The 77th CMEF Spring Expo: The beginning of the era of medical digitalization

From May 15 to 18, 2017, the China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF) was grandly held at the Shanghai National Convention and Exhibition Center. As the largest medical device industry chain exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region, this year's exhibition, with the theme of "Medical Digitalization Era", brought together more than 2,000 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and regions around the world, attracting more than 120,000 professional visitors.

The scale has reached a new high: covering all fields such as medical imaging, in vitro diagnosis, emergency rehabilitation, etc., with more than 10,000 products on display.

Internationalization: National exhibition groups such as Germany and the Netherlands appeared, and officials from the US and Canadian consulates in Shanghai attended the opening ceremony.

New products launched: More than 600 global and Asia-Pacific first-launch products were displayed, including the Whisamp HRA health risk assessment system, PMR microcirculation repair equipment, etc.

Siemens Healthineers releases imaging equipment equipped with AI algorithms to achieve rapid stroke screening;

United Imaging launches domestically produced PET-CT to break the monopoly of high-end imaging equipment.

Breakthrough in precision medicine

Liyin Precision Medicine exhibits genetic testing consumables and assisted reproductive products and wins the "Excellent Brand of the Year" award;

David Medical EEG monitor revolutionizes neonatal neurointensive care programs.

3. Observation of industry trends

Accelerated domestic substitution: Mindray, Yuyue and other companies promote the localization of high-end equipment through technological innovation;

Cross-border integration: Wearable devices and remote diagnosis and treatment solutions emerge in the medical IT exhibition area;

Favourable policies: More than 30 forums were held during the exhibition to discuss the reform of medical device approval and the implementation of tiered diagnosis and treatment.

2017CMEF, driven by technology and trade, has become an important milestone in the digital transformation of medical care. The trend of intelligence and localization it has demonstrated continues to affect the industry to this day.
